Becoming Address Verified

 Address Verified members

e-assurance-medium

Address Verified helps create a more trusted online marketplace.

Traders who have verified their address will be shown as Address Verified throughout Indian Heritage. For business memberships, the address is where the business operates from, or its registered address for service. For individual memberships it is the residential address of the trader.

How do I get Address Verified?

We verify your address by sending you a personal verification code in the post.

When you receive your code you enter it into Indian Heritage to complete the process. The code is unique to you and can only be used ones to address verifies the Indian Heritage membership that requested it.

What are the benefits to sellers?

Buyers can purchase from "Address Verified" sellers with greater confidence. Sellers are therefore likely to increase their sales and profits by becoming "Address Verified".

Can Indian Heritage guarantee where traders live or operate from?

We can't guarantee the traders current address. Indian Heritage does, however, know with some confidence that the individual that signed-in and requested to become Address Verified is the same person that entered the Personal Verification Code we sent them.

We therefore have a physical address related to an email address at a certain point in time.

What if I move?

You don’t retain your Address Verified status when you move. As soon as you change the address on the portal, you loose your Address Verified status, You have to re-apply for Address Verification Status. Please keep your address details up to date al all times on Indian Heritage as we occasionally do surprise checks on your address.

how much it cost to become address Verified?

Address Verification will cost you $5 each time you verify your address.

When we do surprise check on your address, you don't need to pay Address Verification Fees.

Your privacy

Your privacy is very important for Indian Heritage.

In certain circumstances, Indian Heritage may be legally required to disclose personal information of a member for legal compliance/law enforcement reasons, as outlined in our privacy policy.

Your details may be made available to another Indian Heritage member when a statutory declaration is made requesting contact details for the sole purpose of making a Disputes Tribunal claim.

Conditions

Address Verified is important, it will help you gain more confidence of the buyer. You must use a physical street address and cannot use a P. O. Box. Address Verified letters are only sent to Australian addresses.

The process of renewal for the address verification would be same.

Become Authenticated

We recommend that members become authenticated to prove they are serious about trading. You must be authenticated to sell though it is not compulsory. Authenticated members have red stars beside their name and get 1% discount on commission on sales.

Used in combination with a member's feedback, authenticated traders are more trusted than non-authenticated members. The number of stars next to a trader's name represents their feedback rating.

To become authenticated seller at Indian Heritage you need the following documents:
• Australian driving license or copy of your passport for Photo Identity
• Proof of address – This could be your rates bill or utility bill
• ABN certificate
• Credit your account at Indian Heritage account with a minimum of $20.

The money credited to your Indian Heritage account is used to pay commission on sales, or promotional fees when you list your products. If you don't sell anything this money remains on your account until you use it or decide to close your account.

Accounts left inactive for 18 months are closed automatically and any remaining credit may be forfeited. We'll send an email prior to this, giving you the opportunity to keep your account active.

Feedback

At the end of every transaction we encourage buyers to place feedback. The feedback should represent how smooth the transaction was and the products.

Reviewing a feedback will help you to access whether they are reliable trader or not. Reviewing a seller’s feedback before any transaction is essential and is the best way to protect you as a buyer.

The number in brackets next to a trader's username, is their feedback rating - e.g. Bliss (1 ). Feedback ratings are calculated by subtracting negative feedback from positive feedback.

A higher feedback rating is given to traders with more positive feedbacks. The number of stars next to a trader's name represents their feedback rating. The more feedback, the more stars.

Stopping Spam

Spam is the process of sending unwanted, unsolicited emails to a large number of people. Unfortunately, it is becoming a common practice of small businesses and internet marketers trying to sell their products or services. It is estimated that the average computer’s email box is filled with at least 30% spam.

There are three main type of spam:

  • Spam from companies and websites where you have registered: Reputable companies will give you the option to unsubscribe from emails prominently in their emails.
  • Spam from Indian Heritage Members: If you receive unwanted marketing material from members that you have previously traded with you can find more information  at http://www.acma.gov.au/
  • Spam from unknown companies and people: You receive these because a spammer has stolen, purchased or guessed your email address.

 How to avoid spam

  1. Spammers in most cases need to know your email address before they can spam you so keep your email address to yourself as much as possible and use it only for work purposes.
  2. When posting on a forum do not include your email address as part of your signature.
  3. Guest books are a prime source for the harvesting of email addresses that spammers use. Some guest books automatically hyperlink your email to your username; avoid posting in such forums and never include your email address in the post itself. Do not use your work email for this kind of personal use. If you do not have an alternative email address consider using free services such as Google mail, Yahoo! mail or Hotmail.
  4. When signing up for forums, offers and other public services never use your work email address; if it doesn’t break the terms of use, consider using disposable email addresses. If terms prohibit the use of disposable email, use free email services that include spam filtering.
  5. Never click on links in a spam email; in some cases clicking will result in you confirming to the spammer that the email address is valid and the user is likely to click on links thus making you a prime target for more spam and phishing attacks.

The best way to stop spam is to put your email program or service onto the highest anti-spam setting.

Listing with Variation

Products that are available in different variations offer customer more choice, allowing them to select their preferences of attributes, for example size, color or style. Listing products with variation on Indian Heritage will save you time and will provide you wider options.

What are listing with variations?

On Indian Heritage you can create listings with variations that offer multiple products in on listing. Customer can choose based on their choices. Listing with variations is very common in categories such as garments, fashions, candles.

Why listing with variations?

Listing with variations will allow buyers to choose the products from wider options with their preferred attributes e.g. size and color. It will reduce you listing time however depending upon the subscription level insertion fees may vary. Additionally products with variations improve your visibility in Best Match search results. Product with variation will count as just one product. For example if you are selling t-shirts with 4 colors and 4 sizes thus making 16 products but it will count as one product.

Store Subscription Policy

For Stores subscriptions, the following definitions shall apply to these terms as used on this page:

  • Calendar monthdefines the first day of the month to the last day of the month.
  • Invoice monthdefines the billable days included on a seller's invoice (e.g. 1 June – 30 June or 16 January– 15 February).
  • Subscription start datedefines the date your Stores subscription starts.

All Stores subscription fees are included on your monthly invoice. Free listing entitlements and other benefits described on the Stores page are allocated to each Stores subscriber on a calendar month basis. Your unused free listings and other benefits don't carry over to the next calendar month.

When you register for a monthly subscription for the first time:

  • Your Stores benefits start as soon as the store is setup & approved by the Admin. You receive your entire free listing entitlement for the calendar month when you sign up, regardless of when you sign up. (For example, if you sign up for a Stores subscription on 22 May, you receive your entire free listing allotment for May immediately.)

Your first invoice after you register for an Indian Heritage Store includes:

  • The prorated subscription fee for the number of days from your subscription start date to the first date of your next full invoice month (the "prorated period") and
  • The subscription fee for the next full invoice month (the "first full invoice month"). You're billed monthly thereafter.

Subscription renewals

Your monthly Stores subscription is automatically renewed each month until you cancel it. Such automatic renewal is continuous, and you'll be billed for each continuous subscription term at the defined rates, which are subject to change.

Cancelling your subscription

There's no fee for cancelling a monthly subscription, although you will be billed the subscription fee for the entire calendar month during which you cancel.

When cancelling your Stores subscription:

    • You're billed the current Stores subscription fees for the mandatory subscription period.
    • You receive the current Stores subscription benefits for the mandatory subscription period.
    • After the mandatory subscription period, you pay standard fees for any new listings.

    • You receive Stores benefits corresponding to the current subscription until the end of the calendar month during which you cancel.
    • Starting the next calendar month, you pay standard fees for any new listings.
  • Fees for listings are based on the terms in effect when the listing goes live and when it renews.

Updating your subscription

You can update your Stores subscription level at any time.

When upgrading your Stores subscription (changing your Stores subscription level from one level to another with more benefits):

  • Fees for your current subscription for the current invoice month are prorated and the unused portion of your current subscription is credited back to you. • Your free listing entitlement from the package being cancelled ends immediately. (Any unused free listings from your previous subscription don't roll over.)
  • You receive upgraded Stores benefits immediately. You receive your full free listing entitlement for the new upgraded subscription immediately. Each calendar month thereafter, you receive the applicable free listing entitlement.
  • Your upgraded subscription start date, mandatory subscription period and renewal date is reset based on the date you change your subscription.

  • If you downgrade your Store subscription level during the mandatory subscription period:
    • You're billed at the current higher subscription fee rate for the mandatory subscription period.
    • You receive the current higher subscription Stores benefits for the mandatory subscription period.
    • Your new downgraded subscription benefits are effective immediately after the mandatory subscription period.
